Return Policy
At Shopperfume, we want you to love your fragrance experience. Because we specialize in high-quality, inspired alternative fragrances, we understand you want peace of mind when shopping online.
Our return policy complies fully with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). Please read the guidelines below regarding returns, refunds, and exchanges.
1. The 7-Day "Cooling-Off" Period (ECTA)
In terms of Section 44 of the ECTA, you are entitled to cancel your purchase and return your item(s) for any reason within 7 days of receiving them.

Condition of Product: To qualify for a return under the cooling-off period, the product must be entirely unopened, unused, un-sprayed, and in its original, sealed packaging (including any plastic wrapping or security seals).

Shipping Costs: For change-of-mind returns within this 7-day window, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the package to our warehouse or designated locker/collection point.
2. Strict Hygiene and Safety Policy
Due to the cosmetic nature of perfumes and hygiene regulations, we cannot accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds for any bottles that have been opened, unsealed, or sprayed.
Important Note on "Inspired" Scents: We craft our fragrances to closely match the scent profiles of famous luxury brands, but slight variations in longevity, performance, or subtle notes can occur. We cannot issue refunds or accept returns if you simply do not like the scent or if it does not match your personal expectation, provided the product itself is not defective.
3. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged (e.g., a broken bottle or leaking pump) or if we sent you the wrong fragrance, we will resolve it immediately at no extra cost to you.

Reporting Window: You must report a damaged or incorrect item within 48 hours of delivery.

Resolution: Once verified, we will arrange for our courier to collect the item and we will dispatch a replacement or issue a full refund (including original shipping costs) at our expense.
4. How to Initiate a Return
If your return meets the criteria outlined above, please follow these steps:

Provide Details: State the reason for your return and whether the item is still completely sealed.

Await Approval: Our customer care team will review your request and send you the return shipping instructions and warehouse address. Do not ship items back to us without prior authorization.
5. Refunds and Processing Times

Inspection: Once your return is received at our facility, it will be inspected by our team to ensure it is unopened and in resaleable condition.

Approval: We will notify you via email whether your refund has been approved or rejected based on the condition of the item.

Payout: Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method (via our secure payment gateway) within 5 to 10 business days. Please note that banking institutions can take additional time to reflect the funds in your account.
6. Exclusions
The following items cannot be returned or refunded:

Items on clearance, final sale, or purchased during specific promotional events marked "Non-Returnable".

Gift cards or digital vouchers.
